Ethan's first visitors

Ethan sure is loved!!!!! We had a TON of friends and family surround us with love in the hospital (44 people, to be exact!) Here are just a few pictures from his visitors.

Ethan's birth

Well, how do I begin? With 181 pictures from the last 48 hours, it's hard to know how I can truly capture this amazing experience. For now, I'll just post as many pictures as I can, and hopefully write a little later today or tomorrow. So enjoy the pictures of our sweet little Ethan!

I'll start with Ethan's "birth"day. (Sorry, some of them got out of order). Stay tuned later today, as I'm hoping to get plenty of other pictures up.

(And thanks to Rachel and Nicole for updating my blog while in the hospital!)

Ethan is here!!!

This is Rachel posting for Margaret since she's a little busy recovering and all.

Ethan Daniel Lamp made his proud appearance into the world this morning. Now Margaret has two men to love on Valentine's Day!

Ethan was born at 2:17 a.m. and weighs 8 lbs 9 oz. He's 21 in. long and is sure to be a football player!! He looks just like a Lamp (did we expect any different?) and has LONG dark hair. I'm in love!

He love his Aunt Rachel already. I think he knows I'll spoil him rotten, even though I wasn't the nicest person to him during his first few hours in the hospital. I got to give him his first bath and all the fun that goes with that. What a joy to be able to spend that time with Margaret and Lonnie.

We love you Ethan!!!

Making Progress

Hi! This is Margaret's sis-n-law giving an Ethan update...

Well, Margaret went for her weekly checkup and instead of sending her home, this time they sent her to the hospital!!

She received her epidural around 8:30 tonite and she said she isn't feeling a thing (which is every girls hope). She is around 4 1/2 cm and they are anticipating a Valentines baby at this point.

Keep her, Lonnie and Baby Ethan in your prayers.

I'll update as news comes in...

Something's missing...

I've been working on the nursery for a LONG time, and I can finally declare it 99% finished. There's just one little thing missing...

A sweet little baby named Ethan!!!

If you remember awhile ago, I was having a VERY hard time decorating it, and couldn't stand even going in that room. Well, it's finally come together and I LOVE it!!! I love going in his room and just sitting in the glider. It's so peaceful.

Here are some pictures, but the pictures just don't do it justice. It's so beautiful!

Here's a closeup of the shadow boxes Rachel made for us. Of course, they just need some pictures of us holding our sweet baby boy!

Okay, this was one of my best purchases. I looked long and hard for a diaper bag, but couldn't ever find one I liked at any regular store (Walmart, Target, etc.). So I searched online and found a lady that makes custom diaper bags, and ordered this one. Isn't it cute???

****And in case you're wondering after my last post, no progress. I thought for sure I would have had Ethan by now, but no such luck. I can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow. I got it in my head that Friday was probably my last day, and now that it's Sunday night and no baby, reality is setting in. It's rather discouraging. So everyone pray that I'll wake up in the middle of the night with some serious contractions!!!!!! :)

Good news...

We had our weekly appointment today, and it looks like Ethan could be here quite soon! I'm already 3cm and 50% effaced. My doctor was quite impressed that I've made so much progress without really having any contractions. She said it's highly likely that I'll have Ethan early. We went ahead and scheduled our appointment for next Wednesday, but Rachel's convinced that I won't make it that long.

So maybe we'll have a baby this weekend! :)

Ethan's been moving around like crazy lately. Whoever said that fetal movement slows down in the last month is a big, fat liar! He may have a future with the circus, because he's doing some serious acrobatics in there. He also gets the hiccups quite frequently these days. In fact, after I enjoyed my evening bowl of cereal last night, I rested the bowl on my belly as he was going through one of his hiccup spells. It jiggled around like crazy! Lonnie thought it'd be funny to video it, so here it is... (sorry, it's a little boring)

School Shower

My co-workers threw a wonderful shower for us yesterday. We got spoiled again! We got several big items (our stroller & carseat ~WOW!~, an exosaucer, and a bumbo seat), along with plenty of cute, cute, cute outfits and other great necessities.

Thanks for a great time, ladies!!! :)
