Merry Christmas!

I promised my parents I'd get pictures from Christmas morning posted today. I hate that they're home alone with no kids or grandkids this year. So...this is for you, Mom and Dad!

This is actually Christmas Eve - Dinner with the Lamps (and Rachel!)

Mmmmmmm... Mommy's homemade sugar cookies!

Christmas morning:

Ethan's first movies ever - Elmo and Blue's Clues. (We've NEVER bought him a movie before! We just borrow from the Grubbs. Ha!)
Ethan's showing Daddy where the socks go:
A mid-present opening fake nap:

A mid-present opening roll around the carpet: (the boy couldn't stay focused!)
Ethan loves his truck rug:

Enjoying his Elmo video:
Ethan got a really cool indoor/outdoor play tent with a tunnel. He's played with it a lot already:

We've got Round 4 this evening with the extended Lamp clan, then Round 5 tomorrow with the immediate Lamp clan again, since Logan will be joining us. Lots more presents to open then!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Back to the Crib

Lately Ethan has really been enjoying is crib; I guess he misses it after not sleeping in it for so long. It's his new favorite play area. Let's hope he gets it out of his system before Eli gets here!

Air Jordan

Do I sound old by saying that??? I think so.

Anyway, we had Christmas with the Grubbs last night and they got Ethan a basketball hoop!!!!! He LOVES it! He's just tall enough to be able to make baskets. We'll get a LOT of use out of it this summer! (and in the house until it warms up!)

Here's why I mention Air Jordan - look at his shirt! Grandma got this shirt for him last Christmas - now he's got the basketball hoop to go with it!
(oh, and look at his hands - his new thing is to put his hands in his pockets. Such a stud!)

Thanks Grubbs for a great gift!

Ethan's Tree

I wanted Ethan and Eli to have their own Christmas tree that was decorated more 'their' style, so that's what we did this afternoon! I was so impressed with Ethan's fine motor skills - he did a great job hanging the ornaments by himself. It was funny though - he hung the ornaments by the lights, rather than the branches. I even resisted the urge to 'fix' it and make it look better!

Dropped one...

Starting a Christmas Tradition

One Christmas tradition I want to always have with my children (whether they're girls or boys) is making and decorating sugar cookies. Ethan got to really be a part of the baking and decorating this year.

Ethan learned how to read the recipe before we began:
And how to measure...
And then our photographer had to take a bathroom break, so we didn't get any pictures of Ethan rolling out and cutting the cookies. He really enjoyed pushing down each cookie cutter and did a great job!
Ethan learned the hardest part is the wait...
But it's soooooo worth it!

Yum, yum! We sent most of those cookies to Ethan's daycare ladies, and mine and Lonnie's coworkers. We're planning on making more tomorrow - can't wait!

Sleeping Beauty

I peeked in on Ethan at naptime today and this is what I saw:
(ignore the mismatched clothing - half church clothes, half pajamas)

I had heard him playing in his room a little bit before he finally fell asleep, but seriously, how did he fall asleep like that?

And the name is....

Eli Carson Lamp

Hooray for finally picking a name!!! We're pretty proud that it only took us 6 months this time, versus 8 months last time. Hope you all like it!
