Camping, camping, camping. We just love it so much! I adore watching our kids play together, enjoy nature, and just have fun.
My favorite picture from the whole weekend. Love those 4 year olds!!!
Ethan wanted to try out Caden's big boy bike.
And that's where the pictures end. We went to bed in the camper on Saturday night like any other night. At 1:30 in the morning we heard a loud truck driving through the campground, a car door slam, then a knock on our camper door. It was Cole, Dustin's friend, to tell us that Lonnie's Dad was in the hospital and we needed to get there as soon as possible. So just like that, our world changed. We packed up the kids, made the 45 minute drive to the hospital, and heard the news that he was not expected to make it through the night. We stayed there for awhile, but Danny had slightly stablized so headed home for a couple of hours to sleep and to regroup. We got back to the hospital in the morning and spent the day there, gathering with family, praying, crying, reminiscing. Lonnie's dad passed away at 6:51 on Sunday, September 9, surrounded by 20-30 family members and friends. We will miss you, Danny!!!
And I just have to mention what amazing friends we have. Since we left the campsite in the middle of the night, we had ALL our stuff there, the camper, the bikes, toys, etc. Our friends packed it all up for us so we wouldn't have to drive back to the campsite, and Lance, after taking home his family and his own camper, drove all the way back to Devil's Den to load up our camper and return it to our house. We can never say thank you enough!!! We felt so loved and supported by our friends on that day and in the hard days that followed.
